Sérgio Adorno
Sérgio França Adorno de Abreu has a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1974), a PhD in Sociology from the University of São Paulo (1984) and has been Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre de Recherches sur le Droit Sociologiques et les Institutions penales, CESDIP, France. Professor of Sociology, he is currently Director of the School of Philosophy, Languages ans Literature, and Human Sciences (FFLCH-USP). He is also the Scientific Coordinator of the USP's Study of Violence (NEV-USP). His area of research lies in the field of Political Sociology, acting on the following topics: violence, human rights, urban crime, social control, social conflicts, justice and democracy. He has authored and co-authored 79 articles in scientific periods (national and international), 2 books and 52 chapters in books (national and international). Under his guidance were trained 24 professors, 21 doctors and 2 postdocs. He is a Commander of the National Order of Scientific Merit from the Ministry of Science and Technology. |
