Tiago Bosisio Quental is Assistant Professor at the Department of Ecology of University of São Paulo and leads a research group focused on understanding the spatial and temporal patterns of biodiversity as well as mechanisms of generation and maintainance of species diversity. His group's research interests are not limited to a specific taxonomic group but are, instead, motivated by a range of questions and structured around them. Their main tools to approach those investigation paths are molecular phylogenies, fossil record, ecological data and numerical simulation. Tiago received his PhD in 2009 from Harvard University and joined the University of California, Berkeley, as a postdoc during the year 2010. |
