Rodrigo Oliveira
Rodrigo Oliveira is a brazilian chef in charge of Mocotó’s restaurant. Starting early with the age of 13 years old, he helped his father, Mr. Zé Almeida, to run the former family’s restaurant. Later, Rodrigo came to drop out of the Engineering School to start his studies in gastronomy, first at “Universidade Anhembi Morumbi”, in São Paulo; following then to the Culinary Arts Institute Laurent, also in São Paulo; and CIA – Latin Cuisines Advisory Council, San Antonio, Texas-USA. Invited to lecture and judge in many gastronomy events in Brazil and around the world, Rodrigo Oliveira is considered to be among the best chefs in Brazil, having been awarded with more than 15 prizes, such as Best Brazilian Cuisine, 2011 (Época São Paulo magazine), Best popular restaurant in São Paulo (Veja São Paulo magazine and Folha de S. Paulo newspaper) and Top 100 most influent Brazilian (Época magazine). Currently, he is also a columnist at Folha de S. Paulo, one of most read newspapers in Brazil. |
