René Nome received a PhD Degree from The University of Chicago (2007), was a postdoc at the Center for Nanoscale Materials/Argonne National Lab, and joined the Institute of Chemistry of UNICAMP (State University of Campinas) in 2010 as an Assistant Professor. Broadly speaking, his experimental physical chemistry group is interested in stochastic dynamics. Stochasticity is relevant to nearly all chemical reactions as well as colloid science and self-assembly. In particular, he is interested in applying femtosecond lasers, single-molecule techniques, and optical trapping tools to such problems. Current efforts are aimed at understanding the environment’s role in chemical/physical processes. |
