Neka Menna Barreto
When Neka Menna Barreto was a kid she thought the kitchen was a mysterious and exciting place. She was always waiting for the dishes that came out of that place with restricted access to her and her six brothers. That is how she got fascinated by food and one day decided to begin a career in gastronomy. She started creating great feasts served aboard cruises and soon began catering for artists, politicians and companies. Neka participates in lectures and courses in academia - such as the postgraduate course in Brazilian cuisine at SENAC -, is a healthy diet enthusiast and is often invited to participate in projects related to organic and sustainable food. Her research work in the area of nutrition is extensive and continuous. She has participated in books on food, has lived in the Amazon and in the backwoods, and makes annual trips in order to research about culture and food. |
