Jessica Candal Sato
Jessica Candal has graduated in Audiovisual Communication from USP's School of Communication and Arts, and is studying to become a specialist in Visual Poetics from the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná. She directed the documentaries Teia ("Web") (2010) and O Espelho de AnA ("AnA's Mirror"). In the curatorship field, Candal has been the creator and curator of Reflexos de AnA - Mostra de Documentários de Mulheres ("AnA's Reflections - Women's Documentary Festival"), and recently the curator of the short films at the Olhar de Cinema - Festival Internacional de Curitiba (Curitiba International Festival) along with Bernard Payen. As a screenplay writer, she is developing the films Êxtimo and Helena na Janela e Outras Histórias ("Helena by the Window and Other Stories"), in addition to the children's series project Caixa Mágica ("Magic Box"). Her first film screenplay, Horizonte ("Horizon"), was the winner of the 2014 Audiovisual Project Development Programme's pitching contest at the Curitiba International Festival. Since 2013, Candal has been a lecturer at SESI's Center for Audiovisual Dramatic Arts in the cities of Londrina and Ponta Grossa, both in the state of Paraná. |
