Dr. Boris Roman Gibhardt is an academic staff member at the chair of History of Art at Bielefeld University (Germany) and a research fellow at Zentrum für Interdisziplinäre Forschung (ZiF), Institute for Advanced Studies, Bielefeld. He holds a doctorate in General and Comparative Literature from Freie Universität Berlin, where he is qualifying as a professor this spring trimester (Habilitation). In 2013, he was the assistant curator of the “50 years Elysée Treaty” anniversary exhibition „De L’Allemagne, 1800-1939. De Friedrich à Beckmann“ at Musée du Louvre, Paris. From 2009 to 2014, he was working as a research associate at the German Institute for the History of Art in Paris. In fall trimester 2015, he will be a research fellow at Stanford University, USA. His research interests include Comparison of Arts/Intermediality (18th-21th Century), Art, Culture and Aesthetics in the Age of Goethe, French Fin de siècle and Modern Novel (especially Marcel Proust) and the History of Fashion. Since 2015, he is co-editor of the German and French scientific review journal “Regards Croisés”. |
