Klaus Capelle
Klaus Capelle is president (since 2014) and was dean of research (2010-2014) of ABC Federal University (UFABC), where he is full professor of Physics. Capelle earned bachelor, master, doctor and postdoctoral degrees from the School of Physics and Astronomy at University of Würzburg (Germany), his native city. He also has a master’s degree from University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (United States). From 2003 to 2006, he was professor at USP’s Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC), where he had previously carried out postdoctoral research work. He was also a researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos (IQSC), University of Missouri in Columbia (United States), University of Bristol (United Kingdom), University of Lund (Sweden) and Berlin’s Freie Universität (Germany). His field of research is quantum mechanics of many-electron systems. Capelle is member of the editorial boards of several journals and the author of 90 scientific articles. In 2011, he received the Certificate of Appreciation from the American Chemical Society and, in 2012, the Outstanding Referee Award from the American Physical Society (APS), both cases for his services as reviewer and appraiser of scientific papers. |
